The group is interested in the evolution of social behaviour. Research focuses both on the processes shaping cooperative and competitive traits over evolutionary timescales and on the decision-making processes guiding social interactions among individuals. To investigate these topics, the group uses a combination of lab- and field-based behavioural experiments with fish and arthropods, comparative analysis, and modelling.
