We present a genome assembly from an individual female Megachile willughbiella (Willughby’s leafcutter bee; Arthropoda; Insecta; Hymenoptera; Megachilidae). The genome sequence is 413.9 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 16 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 16.5 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl (EBI) identified 12,058 protein coding genes.
