Ecology and Conservation
All species interact with others and are influenced by the environment they live in. Many factors determine the abundance and distribution of species on our planet and how they are affected by environmental change.
When we better understand the natural world around us, we can better protect vulnerable species. By studying how species rely on each other, how populations are evolving as the climate changes, and how humans both impact and are impacted by the natural world, we can improve conservation interventions.
Our research unravels the relationships between organisms and their environment at a wide variety of spatial and temporal scales, and in a diverse range of terrestrial, marine, and freshwater ecosystems all over the world.

“Humans rely on biodiversity. To address the biodiversity crisis and design effective and equitable conservation strategies, it’s crucial for us to gain a better understanding of the complex ecological processes at play in the natural world.”
